Butt welders, also known as current welding machines or resistance butt fusion welding machines, utilize the electrical resistance at the contact surfaces between two workpieces. By applying a low voltage and high current instantaneously, the contacting metal surfaces are rapidly heated to their melting point, resulting in fusion.
